Homeownership and Giving Thanks

Though it seems like we were just lighting off fireworks to celebrate Independence Day, Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Though different people celebrate it in different ways, the holiday itself is all about giving thanks and being grateful for the things we have.

If you’re part of an HOA, that means you’re a homeowner, and that’s something to be incredibly thankful for. There are so many people out there who would do just about anything to own a home.

If you have a responsible HOA board, count that among your blessings as well. Not all boards (or board members) are made equal, and there are plenty of boards that leave quite a bit to be desired. So even if your board isn’t perfect, be grateful for what you have.

By extension, if the grounds of the property where you live are well-maintained, if the lights are all lit and you feel safe and secure, and if snow and ice are cleared out quickly and efficiently, be thankful for all of that too, because you have a fiscally responsible board that cares about the property.

And beyond all that, make sure that you give thanks for all of the little things that we sometimes forget about: good health, good friends, and loving family members.
