What is a ballot?
Can you restrict ballots to only 1 vote per unit?
Yes, because PileraVOTES “pre-populates” essential resident data into the election form, you can easily limit submissions to 1 entree per unit with just a few clicks.
How do unit weights work?
Many condo associations need to track unit weights (also called allocation of ownership) to identify how much influence an owner has in the association – for voting, distribution of common area maintenance, assessment fees, etc. In Pilera, you can add a unit weight as a percentage to each unit. Pilera can automatically calculate votes based on the percentage of ownership.
Is it possible to vote live during an annual meeting?
Absolutely! You can keep the voting process active, allowing residents to cast their votes as the meeting proceeds. Plus, Pilera supports motions, enabling you to introduce new questions during the meeting to boost engagement.
How long does it take to create a ballot?
Pilera’s self-managed voting platform allows you to create ballots within just a few minutes. It all depends on how many questions you have and the complexity of the vote, but the simplest of ballots can take as little as 5 minutes to create. It’s as easy as making your morning coffee!

How are resident voter lists managed?
Pilera offers two options to bring your resident data into our system. The first way is through our robust accounting partner integration. Pilera supports two-way integrations with most accounting systems in the industry, allowing you to sync your resident data directly into Pilera, which helps you maintain data integrity and save time.
Alternatively, you can use our new community import validator. Simply upload your community data via a spreadsheet, and let our advanced validation tool assist you in cleaning and mapping your data. We’ll then import the data for you. Once uploaded, adding new occupants to Pilera is just a few clicks away.
Can you restrict the type of occupant who can vote?
Yes, you can allow or restrict specific occupant types to vote such as owners, board members, occupants, and tenants.
Do you support Electronic Secret Ballots?
Absolutely! In some states, community associations are required to conduct Electronic Secret Ballots. Pilera supports this feature, ensuring that resident information and voting choices remain confidential and obscured from any reports. This functionality offers residents the assurance that their voices are counted without compromising their privacy.
If we do not have a quorum by the meeting, can we extend the vote beyond the meeting date?
Yes. Should your community fall short of achieving a quorum by the set meeting date, there’s no need to worry. You have the flexibility in Pilera to adjust the settings and extend the voting period. This provides everyone with additional time to participate, ensuring that your community reaches its quorum requirements.
Do you have safeguards in place to show who has viewed the ballot results?
Yes, Pilera’s online voting platform is designed with security and transparency in mind. You can choose when to unseal the results, such as during a live meeting. Pilera also provides live audits of who has viewed the results and when.
Can we conduct surveys with PileraVotes?
Certainly! PileraVotes can be used for various situations – elections, budget approvals, CC&R amendments, and surveys. Our platform offers the flexibility for you to design surveys how you want and easily distribute the survey via our communications tool.
